In the 2DS XL the top screen is level with the bezel and makes for one large, smooth surface. Usually 2DS XL screen protectors cover that entirely and so it won't fit at all on the 3DS XL with their raised bezels and speakers, unless you want to get into cutting them. The bottom screens are about the same size though and that should be usable.
